Evan Vaillancourt, Army Specialist, Legacy Fund Endowed Scholarship

Last year, the leadership team at Kanga Roof made the decision to consolidate our community efforts toward one cause. That cause is the Evan Vaillancourt, Army Specialist, Legacy Fund Scholarship.

This endowed scholarship was created to provide a legacy for Evan that he was not able to do while he was alive. Evan passed away suddenly while on active duty in November of 2022, leaving his wife and their 1 year old son behind. Evan’s older brother, Mason, is a member of the Kanga Roof sales team, and when this tragedy struck, everyone wanted to do something, but no one was sure what that should be. After some long discussions amongst the team and Evan’s family, we arrived at the idea of raising $200,000 to fund an endowed scholarship in Evan’s memory so that the children of military families could afford to send their son(s) to De La Salle Collegiate High School.

Evan was a graduate of the school and an active member of the student body while attending. His mother, Andrea, worked at the school for years and his brother, Josh, is also a graduate, and still an active member of the military service. Evan’s time at the school played a defining role in the man he became and his choice to serve his country. We sincerely hope that you will help us in meeting this fundraising goal.

A monetary donation of any amount is greatly appreciated. We believe that supporting our troops, kids, and education get at the very heart of what it means to serve. We thank you for helping establish the legacy Evan deserves while touching the hearts of countless students who will benefit from your generosity and his memory. As of 2024 we have raised over $55,000 that has been donated to the fund.

• Monetary Donations - Any and all donations help. There is no amount too small and you can make your donation right through the website at the PAY NOW function. You simply enter the code “EVAN” into the PO number on the pay now function. The funds are then sent directly to De La Salle Collegiate, which is a registered 501(c)3 charitable organization on your behalf. You will need to save your emailed receipt for any tax write-offs you may claim.
• Event Participation - Throughout the year we host a variety of events to help raise money for the Legacy fund. The next up is our inaugural golf outing on Oct 12, 2024 at Fern Hill golf course. The sign up form is located on this page. You can pay online through the PAY NOW function and just enter the code “GOLF” in the PO number on the pay now function. A receipt will be emailed to you. We need each group to email or mail in their registration form. The due date for registration is October 5, 2024.
• Let Us Help You - At different times throughout the year, we donate all diagnostic fees that we collect to the scholarship fund. That's right! Just for having us out to your home or business, you can help, or better yet, you can refer us to your family and friends. When we help someone, they are actually raising funds for this great cause during those key months.
