They are you go-to person for any questions or concerns you have while our team is working on your home or building and we think are key to delivering the 5 star experience we demand of ourselves.

Ice dams are a naturally occurring act of God that can cause breakdowns in your roofing systems. There is no way to guarantee that ice dams will not occur, or guarantee you will not get a leak from them. These are also not covered under any manufacturer warranty or our guarantees as they are acts of God.
Your building needs to breath and your roofing system’s ventilation is what allows it to do this. This is especially important for shingle roofs. Improper ventilation is the number one item that will disqualify your shingle warranty from the manufacturer. Whenever we install a shingle roofing system we ensure that it is meeting the building code, or we secure a waiver from the city for why it is not possible and review that with you.
The factors that go into a roofing system are plentiful they include the:
- size of your current roof.
- pitch of the roof.
- how many layers are installed.
- materials being used
- quality of the contractor doing the work
A professional roofing company should be able to explain what is needed and why, and provide options that meet your budget. These options may include repairing the roof while you build up the needed funds for the replacement. The only thing worse than buying a new roof, is having to do it a second time because you chose the wrong contractor and/or system and it has to be redone.
Yes, if you have qualifying damage we can act as your insurance restoration contractor and take you through the entire claim process. We do this for our commercial and residential clients.
Yes, but we do not recommend it. Installing a second layer of shingles on a roof that is deteriorating severely cuts down on the useful life of your roof. You cannot qualify for any full system warranties, and if you have ventilation issues or structural issues, you will need to replace the entire roof to correct those. The second layer will only cover them up for a short period of time.
Yes, with flat roofing you can put a second layer on and still qualify for full system warranties. However, moisture readings and core samples are needed to ensure wet insulation is not encapsulated under the second layer. Any trapped moisture is not warrantied by the manufacturer or the contractor.
Generally most residential shingle projects take one day to complete. The larger and steeper the project, the more time it takes.
Architectural shingles, also known as dimensional or laminate shingles, offer greater thickness and longer life than traditional 3 tab shingles. Additionally, the architectural shingle provide a more pleasing appearance to the building or home.
Unfortunately most home inspectors are jack of all trades, but masters of none. Since their only liability to the homeowner is the price of their inspection, they have very limited liability once you purchase the home. This is why we offer a special real estate inspection service where we will actually guarantee the roof for up to 5 years, or if it is too far gone let you know so you do not buy a home and immediately have to put on a new roof.
In most cases yes, however if your leak has contributing factors like siding issues or brick and mortar issues, those will not be corrected by only putting on a new roof. They are also not covered by your roof guarantee from Kanga Roof or warranties from the manufacturer. Often those leaks will require thermal imaging or destructive investigation to identify and correct.
Our Nail Free Guarantee kicks in after our inspector has done our final inspection and clean up which includes walking the property with a rolling magnet and metal detector. Once we say it is good, if you find a roofing nail on your property we bring you out a $50 gift card for the inconvenience and we re-sweep the property with the magnet and metal detector.
Yes, any time we do a roof or siding replacement we clean out the gutters at the end to keep the free of debris. If your gutters drain into an underground drainage system, we cannot guarantee that some debris will fall into that system. We encourage you to have the drains cleaned out after the project is complete.
Once you have signed your contract, you can always reach out to the roofing specialist you met with. However, we encourage you to call into the office and speak with our Customer Care Coordinator who works with your production team and will keep you updated and answer any questions you may have.
No, once we agree to the price of the project that is the price. There are items them may be added to the project that were not included in your estimate. THese include structural issues, rot and mold. These are unforeseen and we have clear unit pricing that we review with you prior to signing the contract so you are aware of them. We believe in total transparency.
Unless we need attic access, no you do not need to be home. The day of a roof replacement can be very loud and disruptive to anyone inside. We also encourage you to take any pets to doggy day care so they are not stressed by the strangers and noise.
We guarantee that if we provide you a positive diagnosis on our inspection, and that repair leaks, we will repair it free of charge or provide your money back.
These apply to flat roofing or emergency repairs. If you have a leak and cannot wait for an inspection to positively identify the cause of the leak, them we can dispatch out technician who come out and provide temporary repairs to any visually obvious deficiencies that they believe are causing or contributing to the leak.
These can also apply to coming out to provide tarps for your roof or remove snow and ice build ups.
For our residential clients we use our Straightforward Pricing Guide when reviewing any repairs. 95% of all repairs are already covered in it, and provide clear pricing so you know there are not pricing games being played regardless of where you live.
Yes, all manufacturer’s require routine maintenance on your roof regardless of the product used. This includes shingle, metal and flat roofs. Failing to maintain the roof can void out any warranty you have.

First question should always be if they are licensed and if they plan to pull a permit. In the state of Michigan you do not need to be a licensed contractor to offer commercial roofing services. The next questions should be:
- Do you work out of your home?
- How many consecutive years have you been in business?
- What 3rd party endorsements and certifications do you have?
- Are they BBB A+ rated??
- Are they NRCA (National Roofing Contractions Association) members?
- What manufacturers are you certified in and you can prove?
- To provide referrals from recent work they have performed.
- What percentage of your work in commercial?
Due to our location, you can choose any color you want. There is not a significant savings to be had. There are exceptions to this. For example if you are installing solar panels on a flat roof, it would be highly recommended that you install a white membrane which will help the panels absorb more energy.
Yes, this is something that we can offer and help you with.
Coatings are a great option for many older roofs. But you need to make sure it is the correct type of coating for the current roofing system that is up there, and that there is not trapped moisture in the roof.
Yes, once we have performed our inspection we will provide emergency repair budgets, recommended repairs to elongate the life of the roof, and we can provide you with replacement budgets.
