How Long Does a Roofing Appointment Last?

In today’s world, we know that time is your most valuable asset, and we take that seriously. So why do our appointments generally last 1 to 2 hours when we come to your home? Everyone has meetings to attend, soccer practices to get to, and the general needs of running a home.

The simple answer about why our appointments last 1-2 hours is because we are committed to being right. Every time we visit your home, whether for a repair or replacement, we perform a complete, comprehensive inspection of your roofing system. We need to know everything that is going on with your roof to provide the correct solution.

This means our team is providing a complete written 27-point inspection report to you, and they are:

  1. Performing a ground-level inspection of the home.
  2. Walking the entire rooftop.
  3. Getting into the attic to provide a complete ventilation and structural assessment.

Failing to inspect all three of these components leads to bad outcomes, some of which include:

  1. Wrong diagnosis on repairs.
  2. Replacements that do not comply with current code.
  3. Contributing factors that are making the problem worse or leading to premature roof failure.

Would you really be happy if we came out to fix a problem, and then 30-60 days later your leak returns? Only to find out the repair we performed is working, but there was a cracked flashing along the wall that was also letting water in? Or if we replaced your roof, only to find out that you now have mold in your attic because we never made sure the intake ventilation wasn’t blocked with your insulation?

Many roofers do not perform this level of thorough inspection, and this is a leading culprit in why roofs in Michigan are replaced every 17.5 years instead of the 25-30 years they should last. We are unwilling to contribute to the delinquency of our industry.

As you can imagine, performing this inspection alone generally takes anywhere from 35-60 minutes, depending on the size or complexity of your roof. That investment of time, along with understanding what the problem is at the beginning of the appointment, already puts us close to one hour before we have reviewed any of the findings with you.

To that end, on top of the complete and thorough inspection, a key part of our process is reviewing and educating you on the findings and solutions. It is important to us that you understand:

  • What is wrong.
  • What is being done to correct it.
  • The options you have to correct it.

For example, if you have a problem with your intake venting, we want you to know you could install edge venting to correct the problem OR you could install a new soffit panel that would also accomplish the same goal. Then, in order for you to make an informed decision, we walk you through the possible pros and cons of each, along with what the cost of those options are.

A fully informed client always makes the best decisions, and it’s part of how we continue to earn our sterling reputation and over 1,000 5-star reviews.

So, what if you just want a quote for a repair or replacement and don’t want to meet with our team? Would we really walk away from the job? Yes. We would share that we are not a good fit for you, and wish you the best. There is no one repair or one replacement that is worth it to us to sacrifice our process and, by extension, risk installing the wrong solution on your home.

We are happy to make that investment of time in each of our clients so we know that when we give you a solution, it is the right one, and you never have anything to worry about. It is also why we can back our residential repairs and replacements with our 100% Satisfaction Money Back Guarantee.

And if you have lots of questions about the results of our inspection, that is great! Our team is trained to stay with you as long as you need to ensure each and every question is answered. You really are the most important person to us.

If you want a company who is willing to invest in you and provide you with all of the information and time you need, we would love to meet with you to help solve your problems. You can always schedule your inspection directly online by CLICKING HERE, or give us a call at 586-566-0308.
